What is in the Performance Report, and how does it treat unfinished tasks?

The Performance Report is a PDF scorecard for one close period plus the fiscal year to date. Generate it from Reports → Performance Reports by picking a period. Every role can generate it, and Viewers only see periods they've been granted.

What's in it. Page one is organization-wide and has no per-person table: six metrics, a status mix, a completion donut, on-time rate by category, and a per-period trend. After that come individual pages for you and for everyone who reports up to you through the manager hierarchy, each with the calculation behind every task in the period. A member with no reports gets a short PDF. There are no rankings or scores; comparisons are stated against the organization average.

How each metric treats tasks.

  • Skipped tasks are left out of every number. Skipping is a scope decision, not a performance outcome.
  • Completion rate (shown on the organization page) is Complete tasks divided by all non-skipped tasks. A task still open when the period closed counts in the denominator and not in the numerator, so it lowers the rate.
  • Prepared rate (shown on each person's page) is tasks handed off divided by tasks assigned. A task counts as handed off when the preparer submits it, even if it is still waiting on review or approval.
  • On-time rate and average days vs. due are scored when a task leaves its preparer, not when it is finally approved, so nobody is marked late for a reviewer's delay. A task that was never handed off isn't scored here; it shows up in completion and prepared rate and in Missed at close.
  • Rework rate is the share of tasks sent back at least once.
  • Missed at close is the count of non-skipped tasks that are still not Complete once the period's target close date has passed. Each is charged to whoever was holding it at the end of that date, whether the assignee, the reviewer, or the approver, based on the task's status history. A task finished after the deadline is not counted here. It uses the target close date, not the date the period was locked. Until the target close date arrives the tile shows "—", so a period locked early also shows "—" until that date passes.

Unfinished tasks in a locked period. Locking freezes every task in its current status, so an unfinished task stays unfinished in the report. It appears in the person's task table with its status, such as Pending Review, and it counts against completion rate and, once the target close date has passed, against Missed at close for whoever held it. Because the tasks can no longer change, the period's figures stop moving at the lock.

The DRAFT watermark. The report is watermarked DRAFT unless the period has been marked complete. Locking alone isn't enough. For a final copy, the Account Owner marks the period complete when locking it.

Emailed copies. The first time a period is marked complete, each active, non-Viewer member who has turned on "Performance report when a period closes" in their notification settings receives their own report by email, covering their reporting line. It's off by default and sent once per period.
