What does the dashboard show me during an active close?

The dashboard gives you a real-time view of where your close stands. It's built around configurable tiles that you can show, hide, and reorder to match how your team thinks about the close.

Overall Progress is the headline tile. It shows a donut chart and legend that partition every task in the current period into four mutually exclusive buckets:

• Completed — tasks with a status of Approved (fully signed off).
• Overdue — any task that is not yet Approved and whose due date has already passed. A task is counted as overdue regardless of whether it's Not Started, In Progress, or Ready for Review — if the due date is in the past and it's not done, it shows here.
• Not Started — tasks still in the initial Not Started status whose due date has not yet passed (or has no due date set).
• In Progress — tasks that have moved past Not Started (meaning they are In Progress, Blocked, or Ready for Review) but are not yet Approved, and whose due date has not yet passed.

These four groups always add up to the total task count. The percentage in the center of the donut reflects the share that are Completed.

The key thing to understand is that "Overdue" takes priority over the other non-complete buckets. If a task is In Progress but past its due date, it appears under Overdue, not In Progress. This means the In Progress and Not Started counts only reflect work that is still on schedule.

Other tiles on the dashboard include Current Close Score (completed percentage), Forecasted Close Date, Days to Close, Tasks by Status (a more detailed status breakdown), Tasks Progress by Category, Preparation Progress by Person, Late Blockers (overdue tasks that are blocking other tasks), and Open for Review (tasks awaiting reviewer or approver action).

For controllers and CFOs, the dashboard is the single place to check on close progress. Instead of asking "where are we?" in a meeting or over email, pull up the dashboard and see exactly which tasks are done, which are in flight, and which are blocking the close from being finalized.
