How do I mark a task as blocked?

In most cases, you don't need to manually mark a task as blocked — the system does it automatically based on dependencies. When you add a dependency to a task (specifying that another task must be Approved first), ComplyBar calculates the blocked status for you. If any dependency isn't yet Approved, the task shows as blocked.

The blocked status is an overlay on top of the task's regular status. A task can be "Not Started + Blocked" or "In Progress + Blocked." Once all dependencies are resolved (all prerequisite tasks reach Approved status), the blocked overlay is removed automatically and the task can proceed through its normal workflow.

This automatic approach ensures that blocked status is always accurate and in sync with the actual state of prerequisite work. You set up the dependencies once, and the system handles the rest.
