How do I mark a task as blocked?

In most cases you don't mark a task as blocked yourself — ComplyBar does it automatically from the task's dependencies. When you say that task B depends on task A, ComplyBar watches A: while A is unfinished, B sits in Blocked.

Blocked is one of the six task statuses, not a flag layered on another one. A task is either Blocked or it isn't; it can't be "in progress and blocked" at the same time. Once every prerequisite reaches Complete or Skipped, the task moves itself back to Prep Pending and its assignee can pick it up.

There is no "mark as blocked" button — if a task is held up by something outside ComplyBar, such as a bank statement that hasn't arrived, record it as a comment on the task rather than trying to force the status.

Because the status is derived from the dependency graph, it stays accurate without anyone maintaining it. You set the dependencies up once and the system keeps the rest in sync.
